Choose your own adventure at
ICAF Hub Singapore!
There are two routes you will choose to join: Masterclass or Workshop/SIC
If you are a performing artist or are interested in working with communities of diverse abilities and backgrounds in a performance setting, the Masterclass route is designed for you in mind.
If you’re an arts practitioner, producer or researcher, you will be excited at the Workshops designed for experiential learning, and the Special Interest Circles where you will have in-depth exchanges around a shared interest in either producing for community arts, dramaturgy in applied theatre or youth development work.
Choose the route best aligned with your professional development goals and meet your closest colleagues to build alliances, friendships and networks.
ICAF Hub Singapore: The Gathering is where arts and cultural workers from across the Asia Pacific come together to celebrate and deepen community arts practices
Since 2001, International Community Arts Festival (ICAF) has been creating space for reflection, connection and the growth of the global community arts movement, with a triennial festival based in Rotterdam. In 2021, ICAF launched a virtual Hub in Singapore with Drama Box, a theatre company that spotlights marginalised narratives and encourages communal discussions around complex issues.
This year, as Drama Box marks 35 years of creating socially engaged theatre, we’re excited to gather a community of arts practitioners in person for the first time since the pandemic, bringing together voices from Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines, Australia, and beyond.
“The Gathering” is an invitation to learn from each other. Discover the diverse ways artists are responding to pressing social issues and gain insight into the unique contexts across the region.
With a dynamic line-up of masterclasses, workshops, site visits, performances, special interest circles and more, the festival aims to inspire dialogue and embolden creative expression. Join us in this collective exploration of what community arts is, and what it can be.
