Kampong Chempedak
by The Glowers Drama Group
12 June 2025
8.30 – 9.30pm

It is the late 1960s—the once bustling village of Kampong Chempedak has become a quiet backwater. With younger and more affluent families moving to new housing estates, only a handful of seniors remain. When the government announces plans for relocation, most are ready to leave, but a few find it hard to part with their old life. This poignant play, performed in Cantonese, Teochew, Hokkien, Khek, Mandarin, English, Malay and Tamil, brings together a cast of actors aged 64 to 82, in a moving reflection on change and loss.
About the Artists
The Glowers Drama Group, Singapore’s first bilingual drama group for seniors, was founded in 2003 through a collaboration between DramaPlus Arts and SAGE. In 2008, it became an independent company led by Catherine Sng. With about 40 members aged 50 to 80, the group performs in English, Mandarin, and various Chinese dialects. They stage both corporate and community productions, and have performed at Silver Arts Festival, World Gold Theatre Festival and George Town Festival.

Alkanseng Alkansiya (Piggy Heist) follows the family of a single mother struggling to maintain her values and integrity in a rapidly changing world. Founded in 2005, YATTA has staged original productions throughout the country and in other parts of Asia, on issues including child rights, gender-based violence, environmental stewardship, climate justice, bullying and positive discipline.
Relations (Live)
by participants of Relational Choreography masterclass and DIK Danstheater
14 June 2025
8 – 9pm

Step in and become part of a magical encounter, where movement, sound and beauty unite different bodies in the same space. To prepare for this performance, masterclass participants have worked intensely over five days and trained in the process of Relational Choreography—an inclusive method to create dance with anyone, on the spot. Developed by Jordy Dik, this choreographic approach is rooted in creativity, playfulness and autonomy. It focuses on the creative awakening of the individual performer while harnessing the collective energy of the group, making this a spontaneous and collaborative performance.
